Importance

A widespread problem weed.

1. Cotyledons are oval and smooth with a short stalk.

2. The first true leaves are entire, later leaves deeply lobed or cut, lance-shaped and silvery in appearance.

3. An upright annual with small white flowers, followed by heart-shaped seed pods, borne along the whole length of the flowering stems.
