Importance
Normally found in grassland and particularly important in grazing pastures because it is poisonous. Stock will normally avoid it but the weed can become palatable after spraying.
1. Both cotyledons and first true leaves are very variable. First true leaves are hairless.
2. Young plant forms a rosette.
3. Tall annual or biennial with familiar yellow flowers.
